UNIFORM CODE (Excerpted from the Student Handbook ’06–‘07)

Students, except PK3s, must wear clothes that meet the uniform code outlined below. Wearing uniforms fosters pride in appearance and reduces the pressure some children feel to maintain a certain image. The uniform code is clear and children must come to school dressed in accordance with the requirements. Students who are dressed inappropriately will call home so that proper attire can be brought to school for them. Core uniform is worn every Wednesday for Chapel and other special days as indicated in the school calendar.

Hair must be neat and clean at all times. No trendy hairstyles are allowed. Boys’ hair should be cut above the shirt collar. No makeup or excessive jewelry is allowed. Markings on skin, including temporary tattoos, are not acceptable.

There is one casual dress day per month (see calendar). On this day, children may wear appropriate* clothing outside the uniform code.

School Uniform Vendors

Local retailers such as Target, Sears, Old Navy and others carry pieces that adhere to the uniform code. To purchase Lloyd plaid pieces and/or pieces embroidered with the St. Stephen’s logo, the school works with Land’s End and Dennis Uniform Manufacturing Company. Another great resource is the school PTO used uniform collection. The PTO hosts uniform sales at the Back-to-School Picnic and at other various times during the year. Contact the school office (575-0436) for further information.
